Software Engineering Manager | London - Hybrid | Up to £120,000 Basic
GREENFIELD AZURE DATA PLATFORM BUILD
The Company
You can join a fast-growing, tech-led media and events business as their next Engineering Manager. They're building out a brand-new data platform with Azure, Databricks, but this role is heavily focused on the software engineering and integration side of things. The role starts by owning complex API layers and mentor growing engineers, whilst yourself growing into the responsibilities of a Head of Engineering.
The events world relies entirely on third-party connectivity, and you'll own the API layers to enable to Azure Data Platform.
The Role
You get to stay close to the tech, leading code reviews and driving software standards. There's a true mentorship focus to the role as well as they have bright junior devs ready to learn from you. It's a massive integration and connectivity challenge, not just standard data work. Your responsibilities will grow into that of a Head of Engineering.
- You'll be heavily involved in designing and scaling robust API layers.
- Manage complex integrations with external third-party event platforms.
- Support, coach, and upskill a growing team of developers.
- Help your team with code reviews + debugging.
- Bridge the gap between core software delivery and the new Azure data platform.
- Help bring Agile Delivery and scalability.
Your Experience
- A solid software engineering background is a must have.
- API design and heavy integration experience is a must have.
- Azure cloud experience is important for this role.
- People management or solid mentoring experience is pretty important too.
- Deep Databricks experience they can live without (the platform team has that covered), but it'd be a big bonus.
