Description
Data Product Owner (SaaS)
Location: Leeds (Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in-office)
Salary: Up to £60,000 basic
Reporting to: Head of Data
A global SaaS innovator is looking for a commercially minded, value-driven Data Product Owner to take charge of a complex product roadmap and transform a massive backlog into high-impact deliverables.
Working closely with global clients and technical data squads, you will bridge the gap between deep technical capability and clear commercial return.
The Mission
Your focus is straightforward: cut through the noise, ruthlessly prioritize, and deliver immediate and long-term value. You won’t just manage tickets. you will shape the product vision, validate feature requests directly with clients, and ensure the engineering team builds the right solutions at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Value-Driven Prioritization: Triage, refine, and structure a massive backlog, mapping every feature directly to measurable business and client value.
- Roadmap Ownership: Collaborate directly with the Head of Data and executive stakeholders to define, adapt, and execute a transparent product roadmap.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical voice for external enterprise clients, translating complex requirements into actionable user stories and clear release plans.
- Agile Execution: Lead sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives within a dynamic, fast-paced data and software engineering environment.
- Metric Definition: Define and track product success metrics (KPIs/OKRs) to validate feature adoption and ROI post-launch.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager within a SaaS, Data, or Digital platform environment.
- Exceptional prioritization framework experience (e.g., WSJF, MoSCoW, RICE) with a track record of decluttering legacy backlogs.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to confidently push back, manage expectations, and discover genuine client needs.
- Fluency across technical ecosystems (Engineering, Analytics, or AI-driven platforms) to converse effortlessly with Engineers.
- Comfort operating in an evolving, high-tempo Agile environment where priorities can shift quickly.
The Setup
- Location: Modern Leeds hub with collaborative spaces (hybrid model: 2–3 days on-site, remainder remote).
- Leadership: High visibility, reporting directly into the Head of Data with direct input on strategic product architecture.
